FreakyMaia Presents: DECRYPTION TERMINAL The Concept We add a "treasure hunt" element to the standard raiding system. Operators can randomly find locked Data Drives when attacking others. They bring these drives back to a new building in their City—The Decryption Terminal—to crack them open for exclusive loot over a set amount of time. The catch is that while a drive is cracking, other operators can raid and steal it. How It Works • The Drop: When an operator uses 1 Energy to do a normal, random raid, there is a small chance they will loot an Encrypted Data Drive along with the usual $DIRTY. • The Timer: The operator goes to their City, opens the new Decryption Terminal, and plugs the drive in. A real-time countdown starts (e.g. 4, 12, or 24 hours depending on how rare the drive is). • The Risk: While the timer is ticking, the drive is vulnerable. If another operator randomly raids them and gets past their Jammer Tower and Shields, the attacker steals the drive and the timer resets for them. • The Defense: Because the drive can be stolen, the defending operator is highly motivated to spend their $DIRTY on Black Market Protection to lock down their city until the timer finishes. The Rewards If the timer hits zero safely, the drive opens. To keep the $DIRTY and $CLEAN economy balanced, drives contain alternative loot pools; if sustainable, they can also grant $DIRTY and $CLEAN: • Free premium Black Market items (Blue Sky, Shield Breakers, etc.) • Exclusive profile cosmetics (custom avatars, unique borders, glowing chat names) • Permanent passive boosts (e.g. +1% multiplier to Botnet Hive production) Note: Prizes can be upgraded for later features like NFTs (directly or via fragment set collection). Integration With Existing Features • The V. Hangar ($CLEAN sink): If an operator mentions in chat that they are cracking a rare drive, a rival can go to the V. Hangar, pay premium $CLEAN, and target them directly. This can guarantee a drive steal by bypassing normal shields—a strong reason to spend $CLEAN. • Whale Intel upgrade or new item: Upgrade Whale Intel so random raids not only hunt high $DIRTY balances but prioritize targets with an active drive in their Terminal. Alternatively, add a new Black Market item just for this feature. • Mainframe progression: The Decryption Terminal levels with the Mainframe (up to current max level 9). Levels 1–3 can crack 1 Standard Drive. Higher levels unlock more slots, rarer drives, and faster decryption timers. The Numbers & Scaling (Drop Rates and Upgrades) With highly active operators running ~220–260 free raids per day, drop rates stay tight so drives feel rare and valuable. Drive tiers & drop rates • Standard Data Drive – Drop chance: 1.2% per successful random raid – Timer: 4 hours to decrypt – Rewards: Basic Black Market consumables (Police Bribe, Shield Breaker) • Hex-Encrypted Drive – Drop chance: 0.3% per successful random raid – Timer: 12 hours to decrypt – Rewards: Premium consumables (Blue Sky, Whale Intel) and profile cosmetics • Quantum Drive (ultra-rare) – Drop chance: 0.05% per successful random raid – Timer: 24 hours to decrypt – Rewards: Highest-tier cosmetics and permanent passive Botnet Hive multipliers Building upgrades (tied to Mainframe level) Terminal capacity grows with Mainframe (currently capped at 9)—long-term progression (can be reworked for new levels). • Mainframe levels 1, 2 & 3: 1 active decryption slot; Standard Drives only. • Mainframe levels 4, 5 & 6: 2 active decryption slots; unlocks Hex-Encrypted Drives. • Mainframe levels 7 & 8: 3 active decryption slots; hardware upgrade — all decryption timers 10% faster. • Mainframe level 9 (current max): 3 active decryption slots; unlocks Quantum Drives; all decryption timers 15% faster.
