THE CLEAN NETWORK FEATURE CONTEST SUBMISSION Community Entry • March 2026 Feature Name: SECTOR SEIZURE — Seasonal Zone Events Type: Temporary PvE Event Layer Complexity: Low — built entirely on existing systems Impact: High — retention, engagement, new income loop 01 / THE PROBLEM Players who have maxed out all buildings (Level 9 across the board) hit a hard ceiling: no upgrades left, no new goals, no reason to log in daily. The Botnet Hive generates $DIRTY and raids still work — but the routine kills retention. New players struggle to compete against fully upgraded operators in PvP raids and the Arena. There is no neutral ground where skill and timing matter more than raw stats. 02 / THE SOLUTION Sector Seizure — Weekly Temporary Zone Events Once a week, a new hostile sector appears on the Libertad City map. It is active for a limited window (e.g. 48 hours). All players attack the same NPC-controlled structure and earn bonus $DIRTY from a shared zone pool. When the pool runs dry, the zone closes early. When the timer expires, the zone closes regardless. 03 / HOW IT WORKS Step-by-step flow 1. Zone announcement TCN NEWS broadcasts a zone alert 1 hour before the event starts. A new blinking node appears on the City map labeled with a countdown timer. The zone name and estimated pool size are visible to all players. 2. Hacking the zone A new button appears on the Base screen alongside the existing Hack Target button: HACK SECTOR. It consumes Intel (the existing resource, regenerating at +1 per 5 min) and awards a random $DIRTY bonus from the zone pool — for example, between 10,000 and 50,000 $DIRTY per successful hack. 3. The shared pool & live leaderboard The zone has a fixed shared pool (e.g. 500,000,000 $DIRTY). Every hack across all players drains it. A live leaderboard in the zone panel shows the top contributors by hack count. When the pool hits zero the zone closes instantly. 4. End-of-zone rewards When the zone closes, the top 3 players on the leaderboard receive a bonus reward (e.g. extra $DIRTY, a free Shield, or a $CLEAN token). All other participants who hacked at least once receive a small participation bonus. 04 / WHY THIS WORKS FOR TCN Does not break existing balance › Pure PvE — players attack an NPC target, not each other. Shields and jammer defenses are untouched. › Level-agnostic — a Level 1 player and a Level 47 veteran hack the same target on equal footing. › No new currency — only $DIRTY, which already exists in the economy. Minimal development effort › Intel and the hack action already exist — Hack Sector reuses the same logic with a different target. › The zone is a timer + a shared decrementing counter. Standard server-side logic, no AI required. › The City map already renders labeled nodes — adding a temporary one is a UI tweak, not a redesign. Strengthens systems already in the pipeline › Squads (coming soon) — squads can coordinate hacks to race for the leaderboard top spots together. › The Laundromat (coming soon) — a perfect use-case for converting zone-earned $DIRTY into $CLEAN. › Battle Pass — zone participation and leaderboard placement are natural Battle Pass challenge objectives. › TCN NEWS — zones generate organic editorial content: countdowns, mid-event updates, final standings. Retention and monetisation › A weekly event gives every player a calendar anchor — a reason to return on a specific day. › The shrinking pool creates urgency: early players drain it faster, latecomers race against the clock. › VIP Market opportunity: sell Intel boosters or zone-specific shields as limited-time items during active events. 05 / SUMMARY Sector Seizure is a compact, low-effort feature that solves a real and immediate problem — end-game stagnation — without touching a single existing mechanic. It creates a weekly heartbeat for the community, gives new players a fair competitive space, and plugs directly into every feature already on the TCN roadmap. One new button. One timer. One shared pool. Maximum impact. The Clean Network • Feature Contest • March 2026
